We’re seeking an Analyst/Associate to join our Research, Innovation and Customer Experience team in Europe: the team at EIP responsible for the strategic platform bridging EIP’s investment teams, Limited Partners (LPs), and portfolio companies. This position will support broadly across multiple themes related to the energy transition and contribute to the development of market insight to:

  1. support our investment deal flow;
  2. help our strategic LPs transform their businesses; and
  3. accelerate commercialization for our portfolio companies.

This is an opportunity to work on a growing focus area in an established firm driving innovation across the energy ecosystem. We’re looking for an insatiably curious, analytically-minded market researcher, who’s able to manage multiple workstreams and draw insights across an ecosystem spanning startup engineers and corporate finance.

There’s a lot of capital out there chasing climate tech opportunities, these days. Our Research & Innovation team is the reason we’re the climate tech capital of choice for both the startup and incumbent ends of the energy ecosystem. This position will be based in London, UK or Cologne, Germany and be a part of the EIP Europe Fund.

 

Key Areas of Responsibility:

Generating sector research & insight

  • Support market analysis on a wide variety of topics – synthesizing industry research and data from diverse sources to generate insight that’s simply unavailable anywhere else
  • Develop market landscapes for investable target companies
  • Identify the transformational impact that emerging technology might have on our strategic partners’ businesses

Engage our strategic partners

  • Support working groups of subject matter experts and operational leaders from our strategic partner consortium
  • Work hand in hand with partners on building business cases and deployment pathways for transformational technology
  • Present compelling research insights in various formats (1-1, webinars, in-person conferences, working groups, etc.) to our partners
  • Support our partners in extracting maximum value from the strategy team’s services and events

Establish thought leadership

  • Help share our insight, both internally and externally, to share EIP’s views both within and outside of our immediate ecosystem
  • Develop credibility as a trusted internal advisor on key trends and markets.

Create value for EIP investment strategy & portfolio

  • Collaborate with our investment teams to source deal opportunities and build conviction in investment decisions
  • Share actionable insight with our portfolio on market dynamics & opportunities
  • Support portfolio companies by advising on product development roadmaps & go-to-market strategy.

 

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of experience in market analysis; management consulting; corporate strategy; or other relevant fields
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (engineering, economics, energy studies, sustainability, business administration, or similar)
  • Prior experience, or demonstrated interest in, the energy or climate tech sector.
  • An ability to execute hypothesis-led research and create meaning from secondary and primary research.
  • Excellent analytical skills and capability to assess complex business cases

Compliance Analyst/Associate

EIP seeking to hire a Compliance Analyst/Associate who will work closely with the firm’s Compliance Officer to support the firm’s compliance program. This role is a great opportunity for a motivated compliance professional to learn more about private funds and investment adviser compliance. The individual filling this role will report directly to the Compliance Officer. This role will be based in New York City and provides flexibility to work from home.

 

Key areas of responsibility:

  • Support the Compliance Officer with day-to-day activities and monitoring of the firm’s compliance program
  • Administer and maintain the firm’s Code of Ethics (e.g., personal trading, political contributions, outside business activities, compliance certifications, etc.)
  • Review and assess for any potential conflicts or violations of firm’s Code of Ethics on an ongoing basis
  • Assist with updating the firm’s compliance manual and regulatory filings (e.g., Form ADV, Form PF, etc.)
  • Own the administration and maintenance of the firm’s restricted list
  • Facilitate conducting various compliance testing and provide oversight
  • Management of the firm’s compliance reporting software
  • Present and support new hire compliance onboarding tasks and training
  • Support the Compliance Team with the firm’s annual compliance review and/or mock SEC exams
  • Maintenance and organization of the firm’s compliance books and records (e.g., compliance logs, compliance calendar, side letter matrix, etc.)
  • Aid the Compliance officer with review of the firm’s marketing materials
  • Liaising with various groups within the firm and applicable external service providers
  • Assist with monitoring regulatory developments and providing ad hoc compliance and legal operations support as needed

 

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 1-3 years of compliance experience at a registered investment adviser or compliance consultancy firm
  • Knowledge of the Investment Advisers Act of 1940 and associated rules thereunder with an emphasis on Rule 204A-1
  • Extreme attention to detail, self-motivated, proactive, strong organizational skills, and willingness to learn
  • Strong prioritization and project management skills
  • Ability to maintain high level of discretion and confidentiality

We are seeking an Investor to join our Flagship Fund, targeting venture, growth and private equity investments across software, hardware and services verticals within the broader climate/ energy landscape. The individual will be integrally involved in all aspects of the investment process, including: sourcing and evaluating potential investments; performing due diligence, structuring and closing transactions; monitoring performance at portfolio companies; exiting investments; and interacting with management teams and outside advisors.

The position is an opportunity for a candidate to join a lean team in a growing focus area within an established investment firm. This position offers compelling compensation including carried interest, base salary, and annual bonus. This position will be based in Palm Beach, FL with a flexible hybrid schedule.
